Psychosocial Functional Capacity Assessment
Psychosocial functional capacity assessment by qualified mental health clinicians, written in plain English for your plan review.
Evidence for what you actually need
A psychosocial functional capacity assessment looks at what you can do, where things get difficult, and what support would make a real difference. It produces a written report you can use for a plan review or reassessment.
Assessments are completed by qualified mental health clinicians who understand psychosocial disability — not a generic template.

What the report covers
- Daily living and self-care
- Social interaction and relationships
- Communication
- Learning and applying knowledge
- Mobility and getting around
- Self-management, planning and decision-making
What happens
We talk first
What you are hoping the assessment achieves, and whether it is the right tool. Sometimes it is not, and we will say so.
The assessment
Usually across more than one session, in a setting that suits you. We can involve family or a support person if you want them there.
The report
Written in plain English, with the clinical detail the NDIA needs. You see it before anyone else does.
Being straight about outcomes
An assessment describes your functional capacity honestly. It is not a document written to secure a particular funding result, and any provider promising a specific outcome should worry you.
What a good assessment does is make sure decisions about you are made on accurate information rather than a snapshot taken on a good day.
